Over the last few years the Index has acquired some valuable collections of books not only covering iconography but also general history and religious studies. Amongst these is a very fine archive of books dealing with Byzantine art, many of which are not found elsewhere in North America. The entire Index library consists of nearly five thousand books and includes many personal books from scholars such as Charles Rufus Morey, Kurt Weitzmann, Rosalie Green, and Lois Drewer all of which are available for consultation in the archive. These may be consulted only in the building between the hours of 9AM and 5PM Monday through Friday. Please see Fiona Barrett for exact locations.
