The church was constructed around year 1200. The tower was built some years later. In beginning of 14th century the nave was vaulted with cross vaults. In beginning of 16th century the nave was extended with two new vaults and the church got its recent choir. The church was decorated with paintings by the workshop of Albertus Pictor.
