Description
Tryde Church is built 1868 and replaced the old medieval church. According to a piece of parchment found in the altar 1798 the medieval church was consecrated in 1160. Two of the equipments from the old church has made the church famous. The Romanesque crucifix (now in the historical museum in Stockholm) and the baptismal font. The baptismal font was exhibited at the world exhibition in Paris 1867 and won a bronze medal. The font has bin considered as the best Romanesque stone sculpture work in Sweden.
