The church was constructed around year 1200 with a choir and a nave. The nave was enlarged already in the 13th century towards west. In beginning of 15th century the church was vaulted and the walls and vaults were painted by Risinge Master. The figural scenes of the vaulting are mainly composed in roundels. Of the paintings on the walls there only are remainings on the north wall of the second vault with motifs from the last days of Christ.
