Gualöv church was built in Romanesque stile in the middle of the 12th century with apses, choir and nave. There is some remaining of Romanesque paintings inside the triumphal arc. The inscription names the donor of the Romanesque paintings.

In the 15th century the church was vaulted and a porch was added. The vaults were painted by the Fjälkinge workshop c 1440
